I have been currently working at North Dickinson County Schools for 15 years. During these years I have been an English Language Arts teacher to 7th-12th grade students. I have also taught, communications, journalism and reading classes at North Dickinson. Our school is a small, close knit community of just under 300 students in a K-12th grade environment. I am currently teaching 7th grade English, 9-12th grade English, and a Reading Skills class. This schedule keeps me busy but I wouldn't change my job for the world. I believe my students need me as much as I need them. I love discussing books, literature and technology with my students and my favorite moments are the ones that students share books with others without any prompting. When I am not teaching you will find me at one of my three daughters' sporting events, behind a good book, traveling the U. S. or exploring the beautiful Upper Peninsula's waters and hiking trails. My greatest wish is for all of my students to be successful out in the real world no matter what path they follow. My hobbies include reading, running, hiking, trout fishing and anything that involves my family. Living in Upper Michigan helps me live my outdoor adventure.
